The Full Story

Christine Grossman
Christine AKA Duckumz (they/them) is a non-binary queer artist who is just getting established and discovering their own style and techniques with multi-media art. They are 39 years old and grew up in New York and were fortunate to have resources, a supportive community, and family around them as they grew up. Now living in Florida and seeing all the negative things that are happening revolving around the LGBTQ+ community it is hard to accept, as much of their life they have only seen acceptance and progress. Art has been a way for them to express their feelings revolving around Florida’s current political climate that has recently gone national. Painting is their safe space where they are free from judgement, hate, racing thoughts, fear, depression, or hopelessness. Painting also gives them something positive to focus on and a way to share their positivity with the world around them. Duckumz has always had a knack for crafting and creating but has finally taken the leap to becoming a professional artist. When they are not working or painting, they enjoy spending time in the garden or on the water fishing, and they always have music playing. They are also very active in the recent protests that have erupted in response to the Trump regime.
